System Description [03/2012 - ]

  1. FRONT POWER SEAT CONTROL SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
    • The driver seat is equipped with slide, reclining, lifter, front vertical, variable length, and lumbar support adjustment functions.
    • The passenger seat is equipped with slide, reclining, lifter, front vertical, variable length, and lumbar support adjustment functions.
    • The memory call function uses the key ID code of the key to memorize and reproduce the appropriate driving position for each individual who possesses a master key or sub key.
  2. FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENT
    Component Function
Slide motor Receives signal from the position control ECU and switch assembly, and slides the seat forward and rearward.
Front vertical motor Receives signal from the position control ECU and switch assembly, and raises and lowers the front of the seat cushion.
Lifter motor Receives signal from the position control ECU and switch assembly, and raises and lowers the seat cushion.
Reclining motor Receives signal from the position control ECU and switch assembly, and tilts the seatback forward and rearward.
Seat variable cushion motor Receives signal from the seat variable cushion switch, and adjusts the length of cushion accordingly.
Lumbar support adjuster assembly Active based on signals from lumbar switch. Adjusts lumbar support adjuster assembly.
Seat slide control position sensor Built into each seat adjuster and sends position data to the position control ECU and switch assembly so that it can detect seat positions at all time.
Position control ECU and switch assembly Based on the switch operation, seat adjuster signals are input to the position control ECU and switch assembly to adjust the seat accordingly.
Seat memory switch If the seat memory SET switch is being pressed when one of the M1, M2 or M3 switches is pressed, or if one of the M1, M2 or M3 switches is pressed within 3 seconds of pressing the seat memory SET switch, the outer mirror control ECU assembly (driver side) sends the signals so that the seat position can be recorded.
Then, when seat memory switch is pressed, signal is input to outer mirror control ECU assembly (driver side) and seat position changes according to memory.
  3. SYSTEM OPERATION

The front power seat functions which can be adjusted with the power seat motors and memorized are shown below.

Seat Adjustment Function Driver Seat Passenger Seat
    Sliding Power and Memory Power
    Reclining Power and Memory Power
Front Vertical Power and Memory Power
    Lifter Power and Memory Power
    Variable Power Power
    Lumbar Support Power Power

The seat memory switch sends memory switch information to the outer mirror control ECU assembly (driver side). Then the information is sent to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) via CAN. The information is received by the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) and an instruction to memorize the seat position is sent to the position control ECU and switch assembly via CAN. As a result, the seat position is memorized.
