DTC C1516: Torque Sensor Zero Point Adjustment Incomplete; DTC C1526: Rotation Angle Sensor Initialization Incomplete: Procedure

  1. CLEAR DTC
    1. Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [03/2012 - ] .

    NEXT: Go to next step

  2. INITIALIZE ROTATION ANGLE SENSOR AND CALIBRATE TORQUE SENSOR ZERO POINT
    1. Initialize the rotation angle sensor value and calibrate the torque sensor zero point. Refer to CALIBRATION [03/2012 - ] .

    NEXT: Go to next step

  3. CHECK FOR DTC
    1. Check for DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [03/2012 - ] .

      Result

      Condition Proceed to
DTC C1516 or C1526 is still output after performing rotation angle sensor value initialization and torque sensor zero point calibration 3 times. A
DTC C1516 or C1526 is not output. B
      NOTE:

If DTC C1516 or C1526 is output even though the rotation angle sensor value initialization and torque sensor zero point calibration have been performed, confirm the procedure again, and perform the calibration and initialization 3 times.

      HINT:

Replace the power steering ECU if DTC C1516 or C1526 is still output after performing rotation angle sensor value initialization and torque sensor zero point calibration 3 times.

    B → END

    A: Go to next step

  4. REPLACE POWER STEERING ECU
    1. Replace the power steering ECU. Refer to REMOVAL [03/2012 - 07/2012] .

    NEXT: Go to next step

  5. CLEAR DTC
    1. Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [03/2012 - ] .

    NEXT: Go to next step

      HINT:

Replace the steering column assembly if DTC C1516 or C1526 is still output after performing rotation angle sensor value initialization and torque sensor zero point calibration 3 times.

    B → END

    A → See step   8

  8. REPLACE STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [03/2012 - 07/2012]
