DTC B2788: IG2 Signal Malfunction: Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STEERING LOCK ECU - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the F37 connector from the steering lock ECU.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F37-1 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *1 Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Steering Lock ECU)
    3. Reconnect the F37 steering lock ECU connector.

    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      F37-6 (IG2) - F37-1 (GND) Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      F37-6 (IG2) - F37-1 (GND) Engine switch off Below 1 V
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *1 Component with harness connected
      (Steering Lock ECU)

    NG → CHECK FOR SHORT IN ALL HARNESSES AND CONNECTORS CONNECTED TO FUSE AND REPLACE FUSE 

    OK → See step   2 

  2. REPLACE STEERING LOCK ECU (STEERING LOCK ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY). Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [03/2012 - ]
