How To Proceed With Troubleshooting [08/2014 - ]

HINT: 

  1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP 

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  2. CUSTOMER PROBLEM ANALYSIS 
    1. Interview the customer and confirm the problem. Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [08/2014 - ] .

      NEXT: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK AUXILIARY BATTERY VOLTAGE 

    Standard Voltage

    11 to 14 V

    If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the auxiliary battery before proceeding to the next step.

    HINT: 

    A simple method to determine whether the auxiliary battery is depleted is to operate the horn.

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK DTC* 
    1. Check for DTCs and make a note of any codes that are output. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2014 - ] .

      HINT: 

      When DTCs indicating CAN and/or LIN communication system malfunctions are output, repair the CAN and/or LIN communication systems before performing diagnosis. Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [08/2014 - ] for CAN and/or. Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [08/2014 - ] for LIN).

  5. SYMPTOM SIMULATION 
    1. Proceed to How to Proceed with Troubleshooting. Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [08/2014 - ] .

  6. PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

    2. Proceed to Terminals of ECU. Refer to TERMINALS OF ECU [08/2014 - ] .

  9. REPAIR OR REPLACE

  10. CHECK DTC AGAIN* 
    1. Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2014 - ] .
    2. Check for DTCs and make a note of any codes that are output. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2014 - ] .

      HINT: 

      Perform the DTC output confirmation operation.
