Reverse Signal Circuit [08/2014 - ]: Procedure

  1. CONFIRM MODEL 
    1. Choose the model to be inspected.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      for Navigation System A
      for Audio and Visual System (for Radio and Display Type) B

    B → See step   5 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. INSPECT MULTI-DISPLAY ASSEMBLY (INPUT SIGNAL) 
    1. Disconnect the H93 multi-display assembly connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H93-3 (REV) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG)
      Shift lever in R
      11 to 14 V
      Engine switch on (IG)
      Shift lever in any position other than R
      Below 1 V

    NG → See step   3 

    OK → See step   8 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTI-DISPLAY ASSEMBLY - PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the D5 park/neutral position switch assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H93-3 (REV) - D5-2 (RL) Always Below 1 Ω
      H93-3 (REV) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH - BATTERY) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D5-1 (RB) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      Engine switch off Below 1 V

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   9 

  5. INSPECT MULTI-DISPLAY ASSEMBLY (INPUT SIGNAL) 
    1. Disconnect the H92 multi-display assembly connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H92-3 (REV) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG)
      Shift lever in R
      11 to 14 V
      Engine switch on (IG)
      Shift lever in any position other than R
      Below 1 V

    NG → See step   6 

    OK → See step   8 

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTI-DISPLAY ASSEMBLY - PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the D5 park/neutral position switch assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H92-3 (REV) - D5-2 (RL) Always Below 1 Ω
      H92-3 (REV) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH - BATTERY) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D5-1 (RB) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      Engine switch off Below 1 V

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   9 

  8. PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [08/2014 - ] 
  9. REPLACE PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2014 - ]
