The VGRS ECU (front steering control ECU) receives signals from the ECM, skid control ECU assembly, yaw rate sensor, steering sensor, power steering ECU assembly, power management control ECU and DRS ECU (rear steering control ECU) via CAN communication. When DTCs indicating a CAN communication system malfunction are output, repair the CAN communication system first.

DTC Code DTC Detection Condition Trouble Area
U0101/56 Both conditions are met for approximately 3 seconds or more:
  • The power switch is on (IG).
  • The signal from the ECM is lost.
  • ECM

U0125/56 Both conditions are met for approximately 12 seconds or more:
  • The power switch is on (IG).
  • The signal from the yaw rate sensor is lost.
  • Yaw rate sensor
  • CAN communication system
U0126/56 Both conditions are met for approximately 3 seconds or more:
  • The power switch is on (IG).
  • The signal from the steering sensor is lost.
  • Steering sensor
  • CAN communication system
U0129/56 Both conditions are met for approximately 3 seconds or more:
  • The power switch is on (IG).
  • The signal from the skid control ECU is lost.
  • Skid control ECU assembly
  • CAN communication system
U0131/56 Both conditions are met for approximately 3 seconds or more:
  • The power switch is on (IG).
  • The signal from the power steering ECU assembly is lost.

U0134/56 Both conditions are met for approximately 3 seconds or more:
  • The power switch is on (IG).
  • The signal from the DRS ECU (rear steering control ECU) is lost.
  • DRS ECU (rear steering control ECU)
  • CAN communication system
U0293/56 Both conditions are met for approximately 3 seconds or more:
  • The power switch is on (IG).
  • The vehicle is being driven at a speed of 20 km/h (12 mph) or more.
  • The signal from the power management control ECU is lost.
