Front Passenger Side Door Entry Lock and Unlock Functions do not Operate [08/2015 - 08/2019]: Procedure

  1. CHECK POWER DOOR LOCK OPERATION 
    1. When the door control switch on the multiplex network master switch assembly on the driver side door is operated, check that the doors unlock and lock according to the switch operation (Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [08/2015 - 08/2019] ).

      OK

      Door locks operate normally.

    Result: 

    NG 

    Go to POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM 

    (Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [08/2015 - 08/2019] )

    Result: 

    OK

  2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (DOOR LOCK POSITION SWITCH) 
    1. When the door control switch on the multiplex network master switch assembly on the driver side door is operated, check that the Data List using the Techstream (Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [08/2015 - 08/2019] ).
      MAIN BODY

      The Techstream display changes correctly in response to the operation of the front door lock assembly RH.

    Result: 

    NG 

    Go to POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM 

    (Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [08/2015 - 08/2019] )

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK ELECTRICAL KEY ANTENNAS IN KEY DIAGNOSTIC MODE 
    1. Check the following antennas in the key diagnostic mode (Refer to OPERATION CHECK [08/2015 - 08/2016] , or refer to OPERATION CHECK [08/2016 - 08/2019] ).
      1. Check the electrical key antenna (for front passenger side):

        TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

        *a 0.7 to 1 m (2.30 to 3.28 ft.)

        When the electrical key transmitter is brought within 0.7 to 1 m (2.30 to 3.28 ft.) of the front door outside handle assembly RH, check that the wireless door lock buzzer sounds.

        OK

        Entry function operates normally.

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - 08/2019] )

    Result: 

    NG

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE RH - CERTIFICATION ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the N1 front door outside handle assembly RH connector.
    2. Disconnect the G26 certification ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N1-3 (ANT2) - G26-6 (CG2B) Always Below 1 Ω
      N1-6 (ANT1) - G26-5 (CLG2) Always Below 1 Ω
      N1-5 (B) - G26-33 (POS2) Always Below 1 Ω
      N1-2 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      N1-3 (ANT2) or G26-6 (CG2B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      N1-6 (ANT1) or G26-5 (CLG2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      N1-5 (B) or G26-33 (POS2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  5. CHECK CERTIFICATION ECU (OUTPUT TO FRONT PASSENGER SIDE ELECTRICAL KEY ANTENNA) 
    1. Disconnect the N1 front door outside handle assembly RH connector.

    2. Connect the G26 certification ECU connector.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      N1-5 (B) - Body ground Engine switch off → on (IG) 9 to 14 V → Below 2 V
    4. Using an oscilloscope, check the waveform.

      OK

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Tool Setting Specified Condition
      N1-3 (ANT2) - N1-6 (ANT1) Procedure:
      1. Engine switch off
      2. Key brought outside vehicle
      3. All doors closed
      4. Key not inside vehicle
      5. All doors locked through wireless operation
      		 2 V/DIV., 500 ms/DIV. Pulse generation (See waveform)

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - 08/2019] )

  6. REPLACE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Temporarily replace the front door outside handle assembly RH with a new or normally functioning one (Refer to DISASSEMBLY [08/2015 - ] ).

    Result:

  7. CHECK FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE ASSEMBLY (OPERATION) 
    1. Check that the entry functions operate normally (Refer to OPERATION CHECK [08/2015 - 08/2016] , or refer to OPERATION CHECK [08/2016 - 08/2019] ).

      OK

      Entry functions operate normally.

    Result: 

    OK 

    END (FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE ASSEMBLY RH IS DEFECTIVE) 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - 08/2019] )
