1. Check for DTCs.
   NOTE:

   If a malfunction occurs, do not remove/install the vehicle battery before checking for DTCs.

1. Check that the steering wheel unlocks.

   OK

   The steering wheel unlocks.

   HINT: 

   Check that the communication between the steering lock ECU (steering lock actuator assembly) and certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) is normal.

GO TO STEERING LOCK SYSTEM 

(Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [09/2014 - ] )

OK

1. Using other unregistered electrical key transmitter sub-assemblies, perform the additional registration procedure.

   OK

   Additional registration can be completed.

REPLACE ELECTRICAL KEY TRANSMITTER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

(Refer to REGISTRATION [09/2014 - 10/2015] , or refer to REGISTRATION [10/2015 - ] )

Result: 

NG

1. Temporarily replace the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) with a new one and register the electrical key transmitter sub-assemblies to the new ECU.

   HINT: 

   • For replacement, (Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - ] ).
   • For registration, (Refer to REGISTRATION [09/2014 - 10/2015] , or refer to REGISTRATION [10/2015 - ] ).

   OK

   The key ID can be registered.

Result:
