Distance Control Switch Circuit [10/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (DISTANCE CONTROL SWITCH) 
    1. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [10/2015 - ]

      The Data List item shown in the table changes according to the operation of the steering pad switch assembly (distance control switch).

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [10/2015 - ]

  2. INSPECT STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the steering pad switch assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2015 - ]

    2. Inspect the steering pad switch assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [10/2015 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2015 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. INSPECT SPIRAL WITH SENSOR CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the spiral with sensor cable sub-assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2015 - ]

    2. Inspect the spiral with sensor cable sub-assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [09/2014 - 09/2016] , or refer to INSPECTION [09/2016 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE SPIRAL WITH SENSOR CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2015 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPIRAL WITH SENSOR CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY - DRIVING SUPPORT ECU ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the N31 spiral with sensor cable sub-assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the N161 driving support ECU assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N31-12 (DIST) - N161-23 (SPSW) Always Below 1 Ω
      N31-2 (ECC) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      N31-12 (DIST) or N161-23 (SPSW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
