DTC P0192: Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Low Input; DTC P0193: Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit High Input [09/2014 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (FUEL PRESSURE) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Put the engine in inspection mode (maintenance mode) (See service information). Refer to INSPECTION MODE PROCEDURE [09/2014 - 10/2015] Refer to INSPECTION MODE PROCEDURE [10/2015 - ] ).
    5. Start the engine.
    6. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT and ECT / Data List / Fuel Press.
    7. Read the values.

      OK

      1800 to 2800 kPa (18.4 to 28.6 kgf/cm2 , 261 to 406 psi)

      Result

      Fuel Pressure (kPa) Proceed to
      25000 or more A
      0 A
      (1800 to 2800)* B

      HINT: 

      *: The value must change when the engine is moving or stationary.

    Result:  B

    CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR) 
    1. Disconnect the ECM connectors.
    2. Disconnect the fuel pressure sensor connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F5-88 (VCPR) - F45-1 (VC) Always Below 1 Ω
      F5-86 (PR) - F45-3 (PR) Always Below 1 Ω
      F5-85 (EPR) - F45-2 (E2) Always Below 1 Ω
      F5-88 (VCPR) or F45-1 (VC) - body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F5-86 (PR) or F45-3 (PR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    4. Reconnect the ECM connectors.
    5. Reconnect the fuel pressure sensor connector.

    Result:  NG

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (ECM - FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR) 

    Result:  OK

  3. INSPECT FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR (VC VOLTAGE) 
    1. Disconnect the fuel pressure sensor connector.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      F45-1 (VC) - F45-2 (E2) Power switch on (IG) 4.5 to 5.5 V

      (to Fuel Pressure Sensor)
    4. Reconnect the fuel pressure sensor connector.

    Result:  NG

    REPLACE ECM 

    (See service information). Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - ] )

    Result:  OK

  4. INSPECT FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR 
    1. Inspect the fuel pressure sensor (See service information). Refer to INSPECTION [09/2014 - ] ).

    Result:  OK

    OK 

    REPLACE ECM 

    (See service information). Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - ] )

    Result:  NG

    NG 

    REPLACE FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR 

    (See service information). Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - ] )
