Power Seat Power Easy Access System Function does not Operate [04/2013 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FRONT POWER SEAT OPERATION 
    1. Check that each function of the power seat operates normally by using the front power seat switch LH.

      Refer to OPERATION CHECK [04/2013 - ]

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Power seat functions operate normally A
      All power seat functions do not operate B
      One or more power seat motors do not operate C

    Result: 

    GO TO OTHER FLOW CHART (Front Power Seat does not Operate with Front Power Seat Switch). Refer to  Front Power Seat does not Operate with Front Power Seat Switch [04/2013 - ]  

    Result: 

    GO TO OTHER FLOW CHART (One or more Power Seat Motors do not Operate). Refer to  One or more Power Seat Motors do not Operate [04/2013 - ]  

    Result:

  2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Driver Seat / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Driver Seat > Data List

      Driver Seat Buckle SW Driver seat belt buckle switch ON or OFF ON: Driver seat belt fastened

      On the Techstream screen, the item changes between ON and OFF according to the above.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH - IG POWER SUPPLY) 
    1. Disconnect the Q20 front seat outer belt assembly LH connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Q20-1 (IG) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      Q20-1 (IG) - Body ground Engine switch off Below 1 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH - FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH) 
    1. Disconnect the b12 front power seat switch LH connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Q20-2 (L) - b12-9 (RDC) Always Below 1 Ω
      Q20-2 (L) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      b12-9 (RDC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  5. CHECK SEAT BELT TENSION REDUCER SYSTEM 
    1. Check the seat belt tension reducer system.

      Refer to SYSTEM DESCRIPTION [04/2013 - ]

      OK

      Seat belt tension reducer system is normal.

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [04/2013 - ]

  6. REPLACE FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH 
    1. Temporarily replace the front power seat switch LH with a new or known good one.

      Refer to REMOVAL [04/2013 - ]

  7. CHECK POWER SEAT POWER EASY ACCESS SYSTEM 
    1. Check the power seat easy access system.

      Refer to OPERATION CHECK [04/2013 - ]

      OK

      Power seat power easy access system is normal.

    Result: 

    OK 

    END (FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH WAS DEFECTIVE)

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU). Refer to  REMOVAL [04/2013 - ] 

  8. INSPECT FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the front seat inner belt assembly LH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [04/2013 - ]

    2. Inspect the front seat inner belt assembly LH.

      Refer to INSPECTION [04/2013 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [04/2013 - ]

    OK

  9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH - FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH) 
    1. Disconnect the b12 front power seat switch LH connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      b12-10 (DBCL) - b9-1 (RDC) Always Below 1 Ω
      b12-10 (DBCL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      b9-1 (RDC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [04/2013 - ]
