Steering Angle Sensor Communication Stop Mode [10/2014 - 09/2017]: Procedure
- CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS WIRE (STEERING SENSOR BRANCH WIRE)
- Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

(to Steering sensor) - Disconnect the steering sensor connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition I6-3 (CANH) - I6-2 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 54 to 69 Ω Result
Proceed to OK NG

NG
REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN BRANCH WIRE OR CONNECTOR (STEERING SENSOR)
Result:
OK

- Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STEERING SENSOR - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)
- Reconnect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.NOTE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
Refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2014 - 09/2017]

(to Steering Sensor) - Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition I6-5 (BAT) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V I6-4 (IG1) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V - Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition I6-1 (ESS) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω Result
Proceed to OK NG
