Hazard Warning Switch Circuit [08/2019 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Data List 

      Tester Display Measurement Item Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      Hazard Flasher Switch Hazard warning signal switch signal OFF or ON OFF: Hazard warning signal switch off
      ON: Hazard warning signal switch on

      Normal conditions listed above are displayed.

      Result

      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [08/2019 - ]

  2. INSPECT HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL SWITCH (RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Remove the hazard warning signal switch (radio receiver assembly).

      Refer to REMOVAL [08/2019 - ]

    2. Inspect the hazard warning signal switch (radio receiver assembly).

      Refer to INSPECTION [08/2019 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL SWITCH (RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2019 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL SWITCH - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the J11 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      w/ Navigation System 

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J151-10 (HAZ) - J11-2 (HZSW) Always Below 1 Ω
      J151-10 (HAZ) or J11-2 (HZSW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      J148-1 (GND1) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Standard Resistance

      w/o Navigation System 

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J147-10 (HAZ) - J11-2 (HZSW) Always Below 1 Ω
      J147-10 (HAZ) or J11-2 (HZSW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      J145-1 (GND1) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2019 - ]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
