Open in Bus 2 Main Bus Line [10/2015 - 09/2018]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS WIRE (ECM - NO. 1 CAN JUNCTION CONNECTOR) 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to ECM)
    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A78-13 (CANH) - A78-26 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE ECM 

    for 2GR-FKS

    Refer to REMOVAL [10/2015 - ]

    for 8AR-FTS

    Refer to REMOVAL [10/2015 - ]

    Result: 

    NG

  2. CONNECT CONNECTOR 
    1. Reconnect the A78 ECM connector.

      Result

      Proceed to

  3. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS WIRE (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - NO. 3 CAN JUNCTION CONNECTOR) 
    1. Disconnect the combination meter assembly connector.

      *a Rear view of wire harness connector
      (to Combination Meter Assembly)
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N40-29 (CANH) - N40-30 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2014 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG

  4. CONNECT CONNECTOR 
    1. Reconnect the N40 combination meter assembly connector.

      Result

      Proceed to

  5. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS WIRE (CENTRAL GATEWAY ECU - NO. 3 CAN JUNCTION CONNECTOR) 
    1. Disconnect the central gateway ECU connector.

      (to Central Gateway ECU)
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N165-18 (CA4H) - N165-17 (CA4L) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 54 to 69 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE CENTRAL GATEWAY ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2014 - ]

  6. CONNECT CONNECTOR 
    1. Reconnect the N165 central gateway ECU connector.

  7. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS WIRE (NO. 1 CAN JUNCTION CONNECTOR) 
    1. Disconnect the No. 1 CAN junction connector.

      (to No. 1 CAN Junction Connector)
      *b to No. 2 CAN Junction Connector
      *c to ECM
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      U69-5 (CANH) - U69-16 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω No. 2 CAN junction connector
      U69-6 (CANH) - U69-17 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω ECM

    1. Reconnect the U69 No. 1 CAN junction connector.

  9. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS WIRE (NO. 2 CAN JUNCTION CONNECTOR) 
    1. Disconnect the No. 2 CAN junction connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      N168-3 (CANH) - N168-14 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 200 Ω or higher Central gateway ECU
      N168-8 (CANH) - N168-19 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω No. 2 CAN junction connector
      N168-10 (CANH) - N168-21 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω Combination meter assembly
