Back Door Entry Lock and Unlock Functions do not Operate [08/2015 - 08/2019]: Procedure

  1. CHECK POWER DOOR LOCK OPERATION 
    1. When the door control switch on the multiplex network master switch assembly is operated, check that the doors unlock and lock according to the switch operation (Refer to OPERATION CHECK [08/2015 - 08/2019] ).

      OK

      Door locks operate normally.

    Result: 

    NG 

    Go to POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM 

    (Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [08/2015 - 08/2019] )

    Result: 

    OK

  2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (DOOR LOCK POSITION SWITCH) 
    1. When the door control switch on the multiplex network master switch assembly on the driver side door is operated, check that the Data List using the Techstream (Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [08/2015 - 08/2019] ).
      MAIN BODY

      The Techstream display changes correctly in response to the operation of the back door lock assembly.

    Go to POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM 

    (Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [08/2015 - 08/2019] )

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK WAVE ENVIRONMENT 
    1. Bring the electrical key transmitter approximately 0.3 m (0.98 ft.) from the electrical key antenna (outside luggage) and perform an entry back door unlock function check (Refer to OPERATION CHECK [08/2015 - 08/2016] , or refer to OPERATION CHECK [08/2016 - 08/2019] ).

      *a Approximately 0.3 m (0.98 ft.)
      NOTE:

      If the key is brought within 0.2 m (0.66 ft.) of the rear bumper, communication may not possible.

      HINT: 

      If the inspection result is that the problem only occurs in certain locations or at certain times of day, the possibility of electric wave interference is high. Also, added vehicle components may cause electric wave interference. If installed, remove them and perform the operation check.

      OK

      Entry function operates normally.

    Result: 

    OK 

    AFFECTED BY WAVE INTERFERENCE

  4. CHECK ELECTRICAL KEY ANTENNA IN KEY DIAGNOSTIC MODE 
    1. Check the following antenna in the key diagnostic mode (Refer to SYSTEM DESCRIPTION [08/2015 - 08/2016] , or refer to SYSTEM DESCRIPTION [08/2016 - 08/2019] ).
      1. Check the electrical key antenna (outside luggage).

        *a 0.7 to 1 m (2.30 to 3.28 ft.)

        When the electrical key transmitter is brought within 0.7 to 1 m (2.30 to 3.28 ft.) of the electrical key antenna (outside luggage), check that the wireless door lock buzzer sounds.

        OK

        Wireless door lock buzzer sounds.

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - 08/2019] )

    Result: 

    NG

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ELECTRICAL KEY ANTENNA - CERTIFICATION ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the R19 electrical key antenna (outside luggage) connector.
    2. Disconnect the G27 certification ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      R19-1 (CLG5) - G27-19 (CLG8) Always Below 1 Ω
      R19-2 (CLGB) - G27-20 (CG8B) Always Below 1 Ω
      R19-1 (CLG5) or G27-19 (CLG8) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      R19-2 (CLGB) or G27-20 (CG8B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  6. INSPECT ELECTRICAL KEY ANTENNA (OUTSIDE LUGGAGE) 
    1. Remove the electrical key antenna (outside luggage) (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - 08/2019] ).

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 (CLG5) - 2 (CLGB) Always Below 1 Ω

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - 08/2019] )

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE ELECTRICAL KEY ANTENNA (OUTSIDE LUGGAGE) 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - 08/2019] )
