Microphone Circuit between Microphone and Navigation Receiver Assembly [08/2018 - 08/2021]: Procedure

  1. CONFIRM MODEL 
    1. Choose the model to be inspected.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTI-MEDIA MODULE RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - TELEPHONE MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the H11 multi-media module receiver assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the W18 telephone microphone assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H11-27 (MIN+) - W18-2 (MCO+) Always Below 1 Ω
      H11-29 (MACC) - W18-1 (MACC) Always Below 1 Ω
      H11-48 (MIN-) - W18-4 (MCO-) Always Below 1 Ω
      H11-49 (SNS2) - W18-3 (SNS2) Always Below 1 Ω
      H11-27 (MIN+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      H11-28 (SGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      H11-29 (MACC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      H11-48 (MIN-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      H11-49 (SNS2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK MULTI-MEDIA MODULE RECEIVER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      H11-29 (MACC) - Body ground Engine switch on (ACC) 4 to 6 V
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      H11-28 (SGND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      H11-48 (MIN-) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

  4. CHECK TELEPHONE MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Replace the telephone microphone assembly with a new or normally functioning one (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2018 - ] ).
    2. Check if the same malfunction recurs.

      OK

      Malfunction disappears.

    Result: 

    OK 

    END (TELEPHONE MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY IS DEFECTIVE) 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE MULTI-MEDIA MODULE RECEIVER ASSEMBLY 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - 08/2021] )

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTI-MEDIA MODULE RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - TELEPHONE MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the H11 multi-media module receiver assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the W18 telephone microphone assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H11-49 (SNS2) - W18-3 (SNS2) Always Below 1 Ω

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTI-MEDIA MODULE RECEIVER ASSEMBLY -DCM [TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER]) 
    1. Disconnect the H11 multi-media module receiver assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the G56 DCM (telematics transceiver) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H11-27 (MIN+) - G56-18 (MCO+) Always Below 1 Ω
      H11-48 (MIN-) - G56-19 (MCO-) Always Below 1 Ω
      H11-27 (MIN+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      H11-48 (MIN-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      H11-28 (SGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DCM [TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER] - TELEPHONE MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the G56 DCM (telematics transceiver) connector.
    2. Disconnect the W18 telephone microphone assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G56-33 (MCVD) - W18-1 (MACC) Always Below 1 Ω
      G56-34 (MCI+) - W18-2 (MCO+) Always Below 1 Ω
      G56-35 (MCI-) - W18-4 (MCO-) Always Below 1 Ω
      G56-33 (MCVD) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G56-34 (MCI+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    1. Replace the DCM telematics transceiver assembly with a new or normally functioning one (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2018 - 08/2021] ).
    2. Check if the same malfunction recurs.

      Malfunction disappears.

    Result:
