DTC B2410: Headlight Swivel ECU LH Communication; DTC B2411: Headlight Swivel ECU RH Communication; DTC B2424: Headlight Beam Level Control Motor LH Lost Communication; DTC B2425: Headlight Beam Level Control Motor RH Lost Communication [09/2017 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [09/2017 - ]

      Body Electrical > AFS > Clear DTCs 

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and wait for at least 10 seconds or more.
    3. Check for DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [09/2017 - ]

      Body Electrical > AFS > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      DTC B2410, B2411, B2424 and B2425 are not outputs.

      Result

Refer to  DTC B2424: Headlight Leveling Motor LH Communication Malfunction; DTC B2410: Headlight Swivel Motor LH Communication Malfunction; DTC B2411: Headlight Swivel Motor RH Communication Malfunction; DTC B2425: Headlight Leveling Motor RH Communication Malfunction [09/2017 - ]

  2. CHECK HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the headlight ECU sub-assembly LH as a unit with the connectors still connected.

      Refer to REMOVAL [09/2017 - ]

    2. Disconnect the A20 headlight ECU sub-assembly RH connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A20-19 (LINS) - C-4 Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT UNIT ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [09/2017 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2017 - ] 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY LH - HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY RH) 
    1. Disconnect the A19 headlight ECU sub-assembly LH connector.
    2. Disconnect the A20 headlight ECU sub-assembly RH connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A19-19 (LINS) - A20-19 (LINS) Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result:

  4. CHECK HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (LINS TERMINAL SIGNAL OUTPUT)

    (to Headlight ECU Sub-assembly RH)
    1. Disconnect the headlight ECU sub-assembly RH connector.
    2. Using the Techstream, check the waveform.

      OK

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A20-19 (LINS) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) Pulse generation

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2017 - ]

  5. CHECK HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Remove the headlight ECU sub-assembly RH as a unit with the connectors still connected.

      Refer to REMOVAL [09/2017 - ]

    2. Disconnect the A19 headlight ECU sub-assembly LH connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A19-19 (LINS) - C-4 Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT UNIT ASSEMBLY RH. Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [09/2017 - ] 

    Result:

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY RH. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2017 - ] 

  6. CHECK HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Disconnect the A20 headlight ECU sub-assembly RH connector.
    2. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [09/2017 - ]

    3. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and wait for at least 10 seconds or more.
    4. Check for DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [09/2017 - ]

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC B2411 is output A
      DTC B2410 and B2411 are output B

  7. CHECK HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Remove headlight ECU sub-assembly RH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [09/2017 - ]

    2. Reconnect the A20 headlight ECU sub-assembly RH connector.
    3. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [09/2017 - ]

      Body Electrical > AFS > Clear DTCs 

    4. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and wait for at least 10 seconds or more.
    5. Check for DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [09/2017 - ]

      Body Electrical > AFS > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC B2411 is output A
      DTC B2410 and B2411 are output B

    Result: 

    A 

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT UNIT ASSEMBLY RH. Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [09/2017 - ]

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY RH. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2017 - ] 

  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY LH - HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY RH) 
    1. Disconnect the A19 headlight ECU sub-assembly LH connector.
    2. Disconnect the A20 headlight ECU sub-assembly RH connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A19-19 (LINS) or A20-19 (LINS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  9. CHECK HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove headlight ECU sub-assembly LH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [09/2017 - ]

    2. Reconnect the A19 headlight ECU sub-assembly LH connector.
    3. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [09/2017 - ]

      Body Electrical > AFS > Clear DTCs 

    4. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and wait for at least 10 seconds or more.
    5. Check for DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [09/2017 - ]

      Body Electrical > AFS > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC B2410 is output A
      DTC B2410 and B2411 are output B

    Result: 

    A 

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT UNIT ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [09/2017 - ]

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2017 - ] 

  10. CHECK HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Replace the headlight ECU sub-assembly LH with a new one.

      Refer to REMOVAL [09/2017 - ]

    2. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [09/2017 - ]

      Body Electrical > AFS > Clear DTCs 

    3. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and wait for at least 10 seconds or more.
    4. Check for DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [09/2017 - ]

      Body Electrical > AFS > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      DTC B2410 and B2424 are not outputs.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    END (HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY LH WAS DEFECTIVE)

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT UNIT ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [09/2017 - ] 

  11. CHECK HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Replace the headlight ECU sub-assembly RH with a new one.

      Refer to REMOVAL [09/2017 - ]

    2. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [09/2017 - ]

      Body Electrical > AFS > Clear DTCs 

    3. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and wait for at least 10 seconds or more.
    4. Check for DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [09/2017 - ]

      Body Electrical > AFS > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      DTC B2411 and B2425 are not outputs.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    END (HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY RH WAS DEFECTIVE)
