Distance Control Switch Circuit [09/2017 - 05/2019]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (DISTANCE CONTROL SWITCH) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Radar Cruise 2 / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [09/2017 - 05/2019]

      Powertrain > Radar Cruise2 > Data List

      Distance Control Switch Distance control switch signal ON or OFF ON: Vehicle-to-vehicle distance control switch pushed
      OFF: Vehicle-to-vehicle distance control switch not pushed

      The Data List item shown in the table changes according to the operation of the vehicle-to-vehicle distance control switch (steering pad switch assembly).

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [09/2017 - 05/2019]

  2. INSPECT STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the steering pad switch assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [09/2017 - ]

    2. Inspect the steering pad switch assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [09/2017 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2017 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. INSPECT SPIRAL WITH SENSOR CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the spiral with sensor cable sub-assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [09/2017 - 05/2019]

    2. Inspect the spiral with sensor cable sub-assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [09/2017 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE SPIRAL WITH SENSOR CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2017 - 05/2019] 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPIRAL WITH SENSOR CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY - DRIVING SUPPORT ECU ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the I4 spiral with sensor cable sub-assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the I157 driving support ECU assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I4-12 (DIST) - I157-23 (SPSW) Always Below 1 Ω
      I4-2 (ECC) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      I4-12 (DIST) or I157-23 (SPSW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    4. Connect the I157 driving support ECU assembly connector.
    5. Connect the I4 spiral with sensor cable sub-assembly connector.

      Result

    Result: 

    REPLACE DRIVING SUPPORT ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2017 - 05/2019]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
