System Description [08/2016 - 11/2017]
- ADAPTIVE VARIABLE SUSPENSION SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
- The absorber control ECU receives signals from the sensors and switches to control the absorber control actuator (shock absorber assembly). It uses these signals to optimally control the damping force in accordance with the driving conditions and road conditions.
FUNCTION OF COMPONENTS:Component Function Shock absorber assembly Absorber control actuator Changes the damping force. Front acceleration sensor LH Detects the vertical acceleration of the left front area of the vehicle body. Rear acceleration sensor Detects the vertical acceleration of the rear of the vehicle body. Absorber control ECU (Built into front acceleration sensor RH) - Controls the damping force.
- When changed to diagnostic mode, indicates any malfunction by outputting DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes).
- Detects the vertical acceleration of the right front area of the vehicle body.
Yaw rate sensor assembly Acceleration sensor Detects the vehicle's longitudinal and lateral acceleration and deceleration. Steering angle sensor Detects the steering direction and the angle of the steering wheel. Brake actuator assembly Skid control ECU - Sends the vehicle speed signal to the absorber control ECU.
- Sends the brake pedal depressed signal to the absorber control ECU.
- Makes a request for damping force control to the absorber control ECU.
ECM - Sends the drive torque signal to the absorber control ECU.
- Sends the driving mode selected using the drive mode select switch (combination switch assembly) to the absorber control ECU.
Driving support ECU assembly* Sends the damping force cooperative control signal to the absorber control ECU. Combination switch assembly Drive mode select switch Switches the driving mode. Combination meter assembly Multi-information display Indicates the drive mode selected using the drive mode select switch (combination switch assembly). *: w/ Pre-collision System
