Precaution [08/2015 - 08/2019]

NOTE:
  • After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work (Refer to PRECAUTION [08/2015 - ] ).
  • When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2015 - 08/2019] ).
  1. INSPECTION PROCEDURE FOR VEHICLE INVOLVED IN ACCIDENT 
    1. Perform the zero point calibration and sensitivity check if any of the following conditions apply.
      • The occupant classification ECU is replaced.
      • Accessories (seatback tray, seat cover, etc.) are installed.
      • The front passenger seat is removed from the vehicle.
      • The passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator ("OFF") comes on when the front passenger seat is not occupied.
      • An occupant classification sensor collision detection DTC is output due to an accident or a collision.
      NOTE:

      When a vehicle that has been in an accident is brought into the workshop for repair, check the flatness of the body on the side that is equipped with the passenger seat. If the flatness is not within +/-3.0 mm (0.118 in.) of the specification, adjust it to a value within the specified range.
