Fail-Safe Chart [09/2015 - ]

  1. FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION 
    • If a malfunction is detected in the 4WD ECU assembly, the 4WD ECU assembly may stop AWD control and transfer all torque to the front wheels, or function in a such a way as to prevent damage to the system.
    • If a malfunction is detected in the sensor or actuator, current to the 4WD linear solenoid of the electro magnetic control coupling sub-assembly is cut. As a result, all torque is transferred to the front wheels.
    • When a malfunction is detected in the AWD system, operations related to the malfunction will be prohibited. However, if the function is operating when the fail-safe function activates, the operation may be permitted to continue temporarily to prevent sudden changes in the vehicle condition.
    • When the AWD system is malfunctioning, a warning message is displayed on the multi-information display to inform the driver.
