DTC P007A-11: Charge Air Cooler Temperature Sensor Bank 1 Circuit Short to Ground [12/2021 - ]: Description
The intake air temperature sensor, built into the No. 3 turbo pressure sensor, monitors the intake air temperature. The intake air temperature sensor has a built-in thermistor with a resistance that varies according to the temperature of the intake air. When the intake air temperature is low, the resistance of the thermistor increases. When the temperature is high, the resistance drops. These variations in resistance are transmitted to the ECM as voltage changes (See Fig. 1 above).
The intake air temperature sensor is powered by a 5 V supply from the THIM terminal of the ECM, via resistor R.
Resistor R and the intake air temperature sensor are connected in series. When the resistance value of the intake air temperature sensor changes, according to changes in the intake air temperature, the voltage at terminal THIM also varies. Based on this signal, the ECM increases the fuel injection volume when the engine is cold to improve driveability.
HINT:
When DTC P007A-11 or P007A-15 is stored, the ECM enters fail-safe mode. During fail-safe mode, the intake air temperature is estimated to be 45°C (113°F) by the ECM. Fail-safe mode continues until a pass condition is detected.

HINT:
When a DTC is output, check the Data List item "Intake Air Temperature B1S1 (Turbo)" using the GTS.
Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [12/2021 - ]
| DTC No. | Intake Air Temperature B1S1 (Turbo) | Malfunction |
|---|---|---|
| P007A-11 | 140°C (284°F) | Short in THIM circuit to ground |
If the Data List displays a normal value, the normal value may be due to a temporary recovery from the malfunction condition. Check for intermittent problems.
