Installation [12/2021 - ]: Procedure

  1. ALIGN FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD 

    See step  3

  2. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY

      1. Install the steering column assembly with the 2 nuts and bolt.

        Torque: 36 N.m (367 kgf/cm, 27 ft.lbf) 

        NOTE:

        Temporarily tighten the bolt, and then fully tighten the bolt and 2 nuts in the order of 2 nuts and bolt.

      2. Connect each connector and engage each wire harness clamp to the steering column assembly.
  3. INSTALL STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT

      *a Matchmark - -
      Slide in this Direction - -
      1. Align the matchmarks on the steering intermediate shaft and steering column assembly.
      2. Install the steering intermediate shaft to the steering column assembly.
      3. Install the bolt.

        Torque: 35 N.m (357 kgf/cm, 26 ft.lbf) 

  4. INSTALL STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY

      *a Matchmark - -
      Slide in this Direction - -
      1. Align the matchmarks on the steering intermediate shaft assembly and No. 2 steering intermediate shaft assembly.

        HINT: 

        Perform this procedure only when replacement of the steering intermediate shaft assembly and No. 2 steering intermediate shaft assembly is necessary.

      2. Install the steering intermediate shaft assembly and No. 2 steering intermediate shaft assembly.

        HINT: 

        Perform this procedure only when replacement of the steering intermediate shaft assembly and No. 2 steering intermediate shaft assembly is necessary.

      3. Install the bolt.

        Torque: 35 N.m (357 kgf/cm, 26 ft.lbf) 

        HINT: 

        Perform this procedure only when replacement of the steering intermediate shaft assembly and No. 2 steering intermediate shaft assembly is necessary.

      4. Align the matchmarks on the steering intermediate shaft assembly and steering intermediate shaft.
      5. Install the steering intermediate shaft assembly to the steering intermediate shaft.
      6. Install the bolt.

        Torque: 35 N.m (357 kgf/cm, 26 ft.lbf) 

  5. CONNECT NO. 2 STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6
  6. INSTALL FRONT FENDER APRON TRIM PACKING D 
  7. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL LH 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [12/2021 - ]

  8. INSTALL NO. 3 AIR DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Torque: 9.8 N.m (100 kgf/cm, 87 in.lbf) 

  9. INSTALL LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [12/2021 - ]

  10. INSTALL TURN SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    NOTE:
    • Do not replace the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly with the battery connected and the ignition switch to ON.
    • Do not rotate the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly without the steering wheel assembly installed, with the battery connected and the ignition switch to ON.
    • When rotating the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly to check the operation of the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly (checking for abnormal noise, checking the DTC, Data List, etc.) make sure to perform the inspection with the steering wheel assembly installed.

  11. INSTALL UPPER STEERING COLUMN COVER 
  12. INSTALL LOWER STEERING COLUMN COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
  13. ALIGN FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD 

    See step  3

  14. ADJUST SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7
  15. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [12/2021 - ] 

  16. CUSTOMIZE POWER TILT AND POWER TELESCOPIC STEERING COLUMN SYSTEM 
    HINT: 
    Return the customization settings to the settings before changing them.
    1. Perform the customization settings.

      Refer to CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS [12/2021 - ]

  17. INITIALIZATION AFTER RECONNECTING AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL 

    HINT: 

    When disconnecting and reconnecting the battery, there is an automatic learning function that completes learning when the respective system is used.

  18. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 

    Refer to WORK PROCEDURE [12/2021 - ]
