DTC B1793-12: Load Sensor for Occupant Detection System Circuit Short to Battery [11/2021 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK CONNECTION OF CONNECTORS 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
    3. Check that the connectors are properly connected to the airbag sensor assembly and front seat adjuster assembly RH.

      OK

      The connectors are properly connected.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    CONNECT CONNECTORS PROPERLY 

    Result: 

    OK

  2. CHECK CONNECTORS 
    1. Disconnect the airbag sensor assembly connector.

      *1 Front Seat Adjuster Assembly RH
      *2 Airbag Sensor Assembly
      *3 Wire Harness
    2. Disconnect the front seat adjuster assembly RH connector.
    3. Check that the terminals of the connectors are not deformed or damaged.

      OK

      The terminals are not deformed or damaged.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY - FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY RH) 
    1. Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal, and wait for at least 2 seconds.

      *1 Front Seat Adjuster Assembly RH
      *2 Airbag Sensor Assembly
      *3 Wire Harness
      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Airbag Sensor Assembly)
      *b Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Front Seat Adjuster Assembly RH (Front Occupant Classification Sensor LH))
      *c Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Front Seat Adjuster Assembly RH (Rear Occupant Classification Sensor LH))
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G22-24 (SVC) - Body ground Ignition switch ON Below 1 V
      R8-1 - Body ground Ignition switch ON Below 1 V
      R9-1 - Body ground Ignition switch ON Below 1 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2021 - 03/2024]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [03/2024 - ]
