DTC P0705-13: Transmission Range Sensor "A" Circuit Open; DTC P0705-62: Transmission Range Sensor "A" Signal Compare Failure [12/2021 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK ANY OTHER DTCS OUTPUT (IN ADDITION TO DTC P0705-13 OR P0705-62) 
    1. Perform the Health Check using the GTS.
    2. Read the DTCs.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      P0705-13 or P0705-62 and other DTCs are output A
      P0705-13 or P0705-62 is output B

      HINT: 

      If any DTCs other than P0705-13 or P0705-62 are output, troubleshoot those DTCs first.

    Result: 

    GO TO DTC CHART. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [12/2021 - 10/2023]  , or Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [10/2023 - ]

  2. READ VALUE USING GTS (SHIFT SW STATUS) 
    1. According to the display on the GTS, read the Data List.

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSMISSION CONTROL SWITCH - ECM) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Disconnect the transmission control switch connector.
    • Disconnect the ECM connector.
    • Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I73-5 (S) - B70-32 (S) Always Below 1 Ω
      I73-5 (S) or B70-32 (S) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPLACE ECM. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2021 - ]

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY - ECM) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Disconnect the park/neutral position switch assembly connector.
    • Disconnect the ECM connector.
    • Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C34-4 (B) - C37-7 (NSW) Always Below 1 Ω
      C34-4 (B) or C37-7 (NSW) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to

    REPLACE ECM. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2021 - ]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  8. CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE (POWER SOURCE OF PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Disconnect the park/neutral position switch assembly connector.
    • Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    • Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C34-2 (RB) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V

      Result

  10. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY - TCM) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Disconnect the park/neutral position switch assembly connector.
    • Disconnect the TCM connector.
    • Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C34-7 (DL) - C36-35 (D) Always Below 1 Ω
      C34-9 (NL) - C36-16 (N) Always Below 1 Ω
      C34-1 (RL) - C36-34 (R) Always Below 1 Ω
      C34-6 (PL) - C36-15 (P) Always Below 1 Ω
      C34-7 (DL) or C36-35 (D) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
