DTC P0520-24: Engine Oil Pressure Sensor/Switch "A" Signal Stuck High; DTC P0520-2A: Engine Oil Pressure Sensor/Switch "A" Signal Stuck in Range [12/2021 - ]: Procedure
- CHECK ANY OTHER DTCS OUTPUT (IN ADDITION TO DTC P0520-24 OR P0520-2A)
- Read the DTCs.
Powertrain > Engine > Trouble Codes
Result
Result Proceed to P0520-24 or P0520-2A and other DTCs are output A P0520-24 or P0520-2A is output B HINT:
If any DTCs other than P0520-24 or P0520-2A are output, troubleshoot those DTCs first.
Result:
A
GO TO DTC CHART. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [12/2021 - ]
Result:
B
See step 2
- Read the DTCs.
- INSPECT OIL PRESSURE SENSOR
- Read the value displayed on the GTS.
- Read the oil pressure using an oil pressure gauge with adapter.
- Install the oil pressure gauge.
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3
- Start the engine.
- With the engine oil temperature at 75 to 85°C (167 to 185°F), and then read the oil pressure gauge value at 1000 rpm, 2000 rpm and 3000 rpm.
Powertrain > Engine > Data List
Tester Display Engine Speed Engine Oil Temperature Sensor
- Install the oil pressure gauge.
- Compare the Data List value and the oil pressure gauge reading.
OK
Data List value and gauge reading are within +/-50 kPa (7.3 psi) of each other
HINT:
Be sure to clear the DTCs after reinstalling the oil pressure sensor or reconnecting the oil pressure sensor connector, as DTCs may be stored.
