DTC P16B5-15: Multi Flow Control Valve Sensor Circuit Short to Battery or Open [11/2021 - ]: Procedure
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
HINT:
Make sure that the connector is properly connected. If it is not, securely connect it and check for DTCs again.
- Disconnect the water control valve connector.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition B69-2 (VCFC) - B69-3 (EFCV) Ignition switch ON 4.5 to 5.5 V B69-1 (FCV) - B69-3 (EFCV) Ignition switch ON 3.0 to 5.0 V - Turn the ignition switch off and wait for at least 30 seconds.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition B69-2 (VCFC) - B69-1 (FCV) Ignition switch off 190 to 210 kΩ B69-3 (EFCV) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω Result
Proceed to OK NG

REPLACE WATER CONTROL VALVE. Refer to REMOVAL [11/2021 - ]

- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WATER CONTROL VALVE - ECM)
- Disconnect the water control valve connector.
- Disconnect the ECM connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition B69-1 (FCV) - B49-72 (FCA) Always Below 1 Ω B69-3 (EFCV) - B49-71 (EFCV) Always Below 1 Ω B69-1 (FCV) or B49-72 (FCA) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher Result
