DTC P176A-87: Lost Communication with Fail Safe Signal (Gear Shift Control Module "A") Missing Message [11/2021 - ]: Procedure

1. Disconnect the D39 transmission floor shift assembly connector.
2. Disconnect the A19 ECM connector.
3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   D39-19 (SBFS) - A19-62 (SBFS)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   D39-19 (SBFS) or A19-62 (SBFS) - Body ground and other terminals	Always	10 kΩ or higher

   Result

   Proceed to
   OK
   NG

Result: 

OK 

REPLACE SHIFT CONTROL ECU (TRANSMISSION FLOOR SHIFT ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2021 - ] 

Result: 

NG
