Test B: Memory Mirror Inoperative At Memory Set Switch
- Place transmission in Park. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Connect New Generation Star (NGS) tester to data link connector. Retrieve and record DTCs. Clear DTCs. Perform Driver Seat Module (DSM) self-test. If memory set switch LED does not illuminate during DSM self-test, go to step 5). If no DSM DTCs were retrieved, go to next step. If any DSM DTCs were retrieved, go to appropriate step. See TEST STEP table.TEST STEP
DTC Go To B1342 (1) B1529 Step 3 B1533 Step 3 B1537 Step 3 B1747 Step 3 B1667, B1668, B1669 & B1670 Step 9 B1667 Step 10 B1668 Step 10 B1669 Step 13 B1670 Step 13 (1) Replace driver seat module. - Monitor DSM PIDs MEM1_SW, MEM2_SW and MEM_SW, while operating memory set switch through all positions. If PID values correspond to switch position, go to step 9). If PID values do not correspond to switch position and fuse No. 4 (in power distribution box in engine compartment) blows while operating set switch, go to step 7). If PID values do not correspond to switch position and fuse No. 4 does not blow while operating set switch, go to next step.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Remove memory set switch. Test memory set switch. See MEMORY SET SWITCH under COMPONENT TESTS. If memory set switch is okay, go to next step. If memory set switch is defective, replace memory set switch.
- Measure voltage at terminal No. 1 (Orange/Light Green wire) at memory set switch harness connector. See Figure . If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair open in Orange/Light Green wire.
- Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 8 (Black/Light Blue wire) at memory set switch harness connector. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Black/Light Blue wire.
- Disconnect DSM harness connector C356. See Figure
-7. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage at terminals at memory set switch harness connector. See MEMORY SET SWITCH TERMINAL IDENTIFICATION table. If voltage does not exist at any terminal, go to next step. If voltage exists at any terminal, repair short to voltage in appropriate wire.MEMORY SET SWITCH TERMINAL IDENTIFICATION
Terminal No. Wire Color 3 Brown/Light Green 4 Black/Orange 6 Brown/Orange 9 White/Orange - Measure resistance between ground and terminals at memory set switch harness connector. See MEMORY SET SWITCH TERMINAL IDENTIFICATION table. If all resistance readings are greater than 10,000 ohms, go to next step. If any resistance reading is 10,000 ohms or less, repair short to ground in appropriate wire.
- Measure resistance in wires between memory set switch harness connector and DSM harness connector C536. See MEMORY SET SWITCH CIRCUIT IDENTIFICATION table in step 6). If all resistance readings are 5 ohms or less, replace DSM. If any resistance reading is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in appropriate wire.MEMORY SET SWITCH CIRCUIT IDENTIFICATION
DSM Terminal No. Switch Terminal No. Wire Color 3 6 Brown/Orange 13 9 White/Orange 15 4 Black/Orange 16 3 Brown/Light Green - Monitor PIDs DMIR_R, DMIR_UP, PMIR_R and PMIR_UP, while using NGS tester to operate both mirrors through all positions. If PID values agree with mirror actual positions, replace DSM. If PID values do not agree with driver mirror actual positions, go to next step. If PID values do not agree with passenger mirror actual positions, go to step 13).
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect DSM harness connector C356. See Figure
-7. Disconnect driver mirror harness connector. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage at terminals at driver mirror harness connector. See Figure
