Test E: Delayed Accessory Feature Does Not Operate Properly

  1. Check Door Ajar Switches  - Using NGS tester, access DDM PIDs D_DR_DD and P_DR_DD. Open and close doors several times. If DDM PIDs D_DR_DD and P_DR_DD values agree, go to next step. If DDM PIDs D_DR_DD and P_DR_DD do not agree, go to step 5).
  2. Check Delayed Accessory Relay  - Check delayed accessory relay. See DELAYED ACCESSORY RELAY/POWER WINDOW RELAY  under COMPONENT TESTING. If relay is okay, go to next step. If relay is not okay, replace relay and retest system operation.
  3. Check Lighting Control Module (LCM) DTCs  - Using NGS tester, perform LCM self-test. Retrieve and record LCM continuous DTCs. If no LCM DTCs are retrieved, go to next step. If any LCM DTCs are retrieved, go to AUTOLAMP SYSTEMS article to continue diagnosis.
  4. Check Lighting Control Module (LCM) Timer  - Disconnect DDM 4-pin connector C522 (located in upper front corner of driver's door). Remove delayed accessory relay from instrument panel fuse box. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and delayed accessory relay connector terminal No. 86 (Pink wire). See Figure . Wait 10 minutes. If resistance is more than 10 k/ohms after 10 minutes, replace driver door module and retest system operation. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less after 10 minutes, replace lighting control module and retest system operation.
  5. Check Driver & Passenger Door Ajar Switches  - Remove passenger and driver door ajar switches (located in top rear of door, near latch assembly). Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between door ajar switch terminals while opening and closing switch. If resistance is more than 10 k/ohms with switch closed and less than 5 ohms with switch open, replace driver door module and retest system operation. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less with switch closed and 5 ohms or more with switch open, replace appropriate door ajar switch and retest system operation.
