Test M: Memory Seat Does Not Operate Properly Using Remote Transmitter

  1. Operate memory seat using memory set switch on driver door panel. If memory seat operates properly, go to next step. If memory seat does not operate properly, see POWER SEATS - LS article.
  2. Connect New Generation Star (NGS) tester following manufacturers instructions. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Monitor DDM FUNCTION TEST TIC/DATA while pressing LOCK and UNLOCK button on remote transmitter. If data received indicates LOCK and UNLOCK, replace Driver Door Module (DDM). If data received does not indicate LOCK and UNLOCK, go to next step.
  3. Install NEW battery into remote transmitter. Monitor DDM FUNCTION TEST TIC/DATA while pressing LOCK and UNLOCK button on remote transmitter. If data received indicates LOCK and UNLOCK, test all other remote transmitter functions. Recheck system operation. If data received does not indicate LOCK and UNLOCK, go to next step.
  4. Program remote transmitter. See REMOTE TRANSMITTER  under PROGRAMMING. Using NGS tester, monitor DDM FUNCTION TEST TIC/DATA while pressing LOCK and UNLOCK button on remote transmitter. If data received indicates LOCK and UNLOCK, transmitter was not programmed to system. Recheck system operation. If data received does not indicate LOCK then UNLOCK, program remote transmitter.
