Pinpoint Test J: The Illuminated Entry Is Inoperative When Using The Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) Transmitter/Keypad

  1. J1 CHECK FOR CORRECT RKE OPERATION 
    • Using the RKE transmitter, lock and unlock the doors.
    • Do the doors lock and unlock? 
    1. YES  : Go to  J2.
    2. NO  : REFER to HANDLES, LOCKS, LATCHES AND ENTRY SYSTEMS article.
  2. J2 CHECK FOR CORRECT SJB OPERATION 
    • Disconnect all the SJB connectors.
    • Check for:
      • corrosion
      • damaged pins
      • pushed-out pins
    • Connect all the SJB connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
    • Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
    • Is the concern still present? 
    1. YES  : INSTALL a new SJB. REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES article. TEST the system for normal operation.
    2. NO  : The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector.
