  1. I1 CHECK THE DSM C341c FOR DAMAGE
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Disconnect: DSM C341c.
    • Inspect the DSM C341c for damage.
    • Is the DSM C341c OK?

    Yes:  GO to  I2.

No:  REPAIR the DSM C341c as necessary. CARRY OUT the data link diagnostics test.

  2. I2 CHECK THE MEDIUM SPEED CAN CIRCUITS BETWEEN THE DLC AND THE DSM FOR AN OPEN
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Measure the resistance between the DSM C341c-11, circuit 2180 (WH/BK), harness side and the DLC C251-3, circuit 2180 (WH/BK), harness side; and between the DSM C341c-12, circuit 2181 (BK/YE), harness side and the DLC C251-11, circuit 2181 (BK/YE), harness side.

    • Are the resistances less than 5 ohms?

    Yes:  GO to  I3.

No:  REPAIR the circuit in question. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test. CARRY OUT the data link diagnostics test.

  3. I3 CHECK FOR CORRECT DSM OPERATION
    • Disconnect all the DSM module connectors.
    • Check for:
      • corrosion
      • pushed-out pins
    • Connect all the DSM connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
    • Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
    • Is the concern still present?

Yes:  INSTALL a new DSM. REFER to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION . CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test. CARRY OUT the data link diagnostics test.
