Pinpoint Test H: DTC U0212: 00

H1 VERIFY THE CUSTOMER CONCERN
- Ignition ON.
- Verify there is an observable symptom present.
- Is an observable symptom present?
  - YES : GO to H2.
  - No : The system is operating normally at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
H2 CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK
- Ignition ON.
- Using a scan tool, carry out the network test.
- Does the SCCM pass the network test?
  - YES : GO to H3.
  - No : REFER to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK .
H3 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE ABS MODULE AND SCCM SELF-TESTS
- Check for recorded ABS module and SCCM DTCs from the network test.
- Is DTC U3003: 16 (or B1318) or DTC U3003: 17 (or B1317) recorded?
  - YES : For ABS module DTCs, REFER to ABS DTC Chart .
    For SCCM DTCs, REFER to STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES .
  - No : GO to H4.
H4 CHECK FOR DTCs U0212: 00 OR U0212 SET IN OTHER MODULES
- Using a scan tool, clear the DTCs.
- Ignition OFF.
- Ignition ON.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Enter the following diagnostic mode on the scan tool: Self-Test - All CMDTCs.
- Is DTC U0212: 00 or DTC U0212 set in more than one module?
  - YES : INSTALL a new SCCM. REFER to STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES . TEST the system for normal operation. REPEAT the ABS module self-test.
  - No : For vehicles without adaptive cruise control, INSTALL a new ABS module. REFER to Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Module . TEST the system for normal operation.
    For vehicles with adaptive cruise control, INSTALL a new HCU. REFER to Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) .
