Pinpoint Test M: The FDIM Is Inoperative - Vehicles Without Navigation

- M1 CHECK FOR SCAN TOOL COMMUNICATION WITH THE FDIM
- Ignition ON.
- Carry out the network test using the scan tool.
- Does the scan tool communicate with the FDIM?
- Yes : GO to M2.
- No : REFER to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK .
- M2 CHECK FOR CORRECT FDIM OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect the FDIM connector.
- Check for:
- corrosion
- damaged pins
- pushed-out pins
- Connect the FDIM connector and make sure it seats correctly.
- Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
- Is the concern still present?
- Yes : INSTALL a new FDIM. REFER to FRONT DISPLAY INTERFACE MODULE (FDIM) . TEST the system for normal operation.
- No : The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector.
