Pinpoint Test M: The FDIM Is Inoperative - Vehicles Without Navigation

  1. M1 CHECK FOR SCAN TOOL COMMUNICATION WITH THE FDIM 
    • Ignition ON.
    • Carry out the network test using the scan tool.
    • Does the scan tool communicate with the FDIM? 
  2. M2 CHECK FOR CORRECT FDIM OPERATION 
    • Ignition OFF.
    • Disconnect the FDIM connector.
    • Check for:
      • corrosion
      • damaged pins
      • pushed-out pins
    • Connect the FDIM connector and make sure it seats correctly.
    • Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
    • Is the concern still present? 
    • Yes  : INSTALL a new FDIM. REFER to FRONT DISPLAY INTERFACE MODULE (FDIM) . TEST the system for normal operation.
    • No  : The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector.
