PINPOINT TEST E : The SOD-R Does Not Respond To The Scan Tool Or Cannot Be Configured

  1. E1 VERIFY THE SOD-R PASSES THE NETWORK TEST

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform a network test.

    Does the SOD-R pass the network test? 

    Yes  The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by high network traffic or an intermittent problem.
    No  GO to  E2.
  2. E2 CHECK THE SOD-R ADDRESS GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN

    • Disconnect: SOD-R.
    • Measure:
      Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead

      Ground

    Is the resistance less than 3 ohms? 

    Yes  GO to  E3.
    No  REPAIR the circuit.
  3. E3 CONFIGURE THE SOD-R

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the PMI for the SOD-R. Follow the programming procedure as directed by the diagnostic scan tool. Module Configuration , PMI.
    • Repeat the network test.

    Does the SOD-R pass the network test? 

    Yes  The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern was due to incorrect configuration.
    No  REFER to Module Communications Network .
