Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
On vehicles equipped with a gas engine, the RCM transmits an event notification signal which communicates fuel cut-off status and SRS deployment status to the PCM. This allows the PCM to initiate fuel cut-off in the event of a crash.
The RCM monitors the event notification signal circuit for the following faults:
- Short to voltage
- Short to ground
- Open circuit
If a fault is detected, the RCM stores DTC B11D8:12 or B11D8:14 in memory. The airbag warning indicator does not illuminate if B11D8:12 or B11D8:14 is set.
