Battery Current Sensor

The battery current sensor is attached to the negative battery cable. It is supplied a 5-volt reference voltage and a ground from the BCM. The battery current sensor is a Hall-effect sensor that supplies a PWM feedback signal to the BCM. This sensor serves as input to the Electrical Energy Management software. If the sensor malfunctions due to wiring issues or failure a DTC will be set. In most cases the Electrical Energy Management functions are turned off until the sensor operation is restored.
