Pinpoint Test Purpose

To verify PSCM C1110 is present and provide diagnostics if DTC C1110 is currently present and active in the PSCM.
- AA1: CHECK VEHICLE HISTORY
- Check the vehicle history for recent service actions related to the PSCM or steering gear.
- Have there been any recent service actions related to the PSCM or steering gear?
Yes No REPEAT the PMI procedure as directed by the diagnostic scan tool or CONFIGURE the PSCM using vehicle as-built data. Go to AA2.
- AA2: VERIFY THE PSCM DTC
- Clear the PSCM DTCs.
- Ignition OFF.
- Wait at least 90 seconds for the modules to completely shut off.
- Ignition ON, engine running.
- Carry out the PSCM self-test.
- Does DTC C1110 return?
Yes No Go to AA3. The condition causing the DTC is not present at this time.
- AA3: VERIFY PSCM CONFIGURATION
- Ignition ON, engine OFF.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, configure the PSCM. Refer to MODULE CONFIGURATION SYSTEM .
- Ignition OFF.
- Wait at least 90 seconds for the modules to completely shut off.
- Ignition ON, engine running.
- Carry out the PSCM self-test.
- Does DTC C1110 return?
Yes No INSTALL a new EPAS gear.
REFER to POWER STEERING SYSTEM .
ORDER a replacement EPAS gear and INCLUDE the RVC on the form.
If this is a Ford paid repair, INCLUDE the RVC on the warranty claim form.The condition causing the DTC is not present at this time.
