Cruise Control Module (CCM): Removal

For information on Ford Color Coded Illustrations refer to OEM Color Coding

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

All vehicles 

  1. NOTE: If installing a new CCM, it is necessary to upload the module configuration information to the scan tool prior to removing the module. This information must be downloaded into the new CCM after installation.

    Using a diagnostic scan tool, begin the PMI process for the CCM following the on-screen instructions.

  2. Remove the front bumper cover. Refer to: Front Bumper Cover .

    Cruise control module (CCM) 

  3. Disconnect the CCM electrical connector.

  4. Separate the grommets from the CCM bracket studs and remove the CCM.

  5. Inspect the grommets for damage. Replace the CCM if necessary.

    Cruise control module (CCM) bracket 

  6. Disconnect the CCM electrical connector.

  7. Separate the grommets and remove the CCM.

  8. Remove the CCM bracket screws and the CCM bracket.

    Torque: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)
