Engine Oiling: Notes

Crankcase Capacity  - 3.9 qts. including filter.

Oil Filter  - Full-flow type with disposable cartridge.

Normal Oil Pressure  - 20 psi (1.4 kg/cm² ) @idle: 40-70 psi (2.81-4.92 kg/cm² ) @2000 RPM (approximate).

Pressure Relief Valve  - Nonadjustable oil pressure relief valve is located at right rear of cylinder block and is held in position by a domed hex nut sealed by two fiber washers or one copper washer. Valve is set for 50 psi (3.5 kg/cm² ), spring free length is 2.86" (72.6 mm).
