Distributor, Disassemble

1. Remove distributor cap and rotor.
2. Remove retractor to shaft retaining screw, then the retractor, Fig. 1.
3. Remove pickup coil to plate attaching screw, then the pickup coil.
4. Disconnect vacuum advance link from plate, then remove vacuum advance unit to distributor housing attaching screws. Remove vacuum advance unit from distributor.
5. Remove breaker plate assembly retaining screw, then the breaker plate assembly.
6. Remove cam, then the governor assembly.
7. Remove distributor shaft retaining clip, then remove distributor shaft through top of distributor housing.



Distributor, Assemble

Reverse disassembly procedure to assemble. When installing distributor, make sure marks on distributor housing and distributor mounting align as required.
