Air/Fuel Solenoid Valve
Warm engine to operating temperature, and allow to idle. Connect dwell meter, set on 4-cylinder scale, between White check connector pin No. 1 and ground. See Fig 1 . Verify dwell meter reads within 20-70 degree range. Connect a jumper wire between White check connector pin No. 1 and ground. If engine speed does not decrease, clean air/fuel solenoid valve or carburetor. Replace solenoid as necessary.
NOTE:
DO NOT submerge air/fuel solenoid valve in cleaner. Spray with carburetor cleaner and blow out with compressed air. Air/fuel solenoid is not available separately. Replace as an assembly with air horn.
