Faulty Rear Safing Sensor, Front Impact Sensor Or Diagnostic Module; Open Circuit Between Front Impact Sensor & Diagnostic Module
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect diagnostic module connectors. Measure resistance between terminals 1L and 1E (Brown/Black and Brown wires) of diagnostic module connector. If resistance is 1130-1230 ohms, go to step 3).
- If resistance is not 1130-1230 ohms, disconnect left front impact sensor connector. Measure resistance across left front impact sensor connector terminals. If resistance is not 1130-1230 ohms, replace left front impact sensor. If resistance is 1130-1230 ohms, replace wiring harness.
- Leave diagnostic module disconnected. Measure resistance between terminals 1H and 2A (Brown/White and Brown/Red wires) of diagnostic module connectors. If resistance is not 1130-1230 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 1130-1230 ohms, go to step 5).
- Disconnect center front impact sensor connector. Measure resistance across center front impact sensor connector terminals. If resistance is not 1130-1230 ohms, replace center front impact sensor. If resistance is 1130-1230 ohms, replace wiring harness.
- Leave diagnostic module disconnected. Measure resistance between terminals 1J and 2C (Brown/Yellow and Brown/Green wires) of diagnostic module connectors. If resistance is not 1130-1230 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 1130-1230 ohms, go to step 7).
- Disconnect right front impact sensor connector. Measure resistance across right front impact sensor connector terminals. If resistance is not 1130-1230 ohms, replace right front impact sensor. If resistance is 1130-1230 ohms, replace wiring harness.
- Turn ignition off. Disable air bag system. See COMPLETE DISABLING & ACTIVATING under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. Leave diagnostic module disconnected. Check for continuity between terminals 1D and 2H (Green/White and Green/Yellow wires) of diagnostic module connectors. If there is continuity, go to next step. If there is no continuity, replace diagnostic module.
- Disconnect rear safing sensor connector. Check for continuity between Red wire and Green/Yellow wire terminals of rear safing sensor connector. If there is continuity, replace rear safing sensor. If there is no continuity, replace wiring harness.
