Ignition Control Module: Description and Operation

Igniter R&R:

PURPOSE
The igniter is the ECU controlled switch regulating current flow through coil primary circuits.

LOCATION
Left rear corner engine compartment, bolted to inner fender.

OPERATION
Each time current flow is interrupted, high voltage is induced to fire the spark plugs. Timing is ECU controlled with no provision for adjustment.
