Relay Box (Motor Relay Resistance Test)
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1994 Mazda MX-3. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Measure resistance between relay box connector terminal "E" (Yellow/Black wire) and terminal "H" (White/Green wire) or between terminal "A" (Black wire) and terminal "H" (White/Green wire). Resistance should be 50-90 ohms. If resistance is not as specified, replace relay box.
- Ensure continuity does not exist between relay box connector terminal "B" (Blue/Red wire) and terminal "F" (Red/Yellow wire). If continuity exists, replace relay box. If continuity does not exist, go to next step.
- Using a 12-volt power source, connect positive lead of 12-volt power source to relay box connector terminal "G" (Blue/Yellow wire) and negative lead to terminal "H" (White/Green wire). Check for continuity between relay box connector terminal "B" (Blue/Red wire) and terminal "F" (Red/Yellow wire). If continuity does not exist, replace relay box.
