DTC B1318: Abs Control Module Power Supply
- Start and operate engine at idle. Check voltage at battery terminal. If battery voltage is okay, ensure battery terminal connections are okay, then go to next step. If battery voltage is not okay, recharge or replace battery.
- Turn engine off. Check generator drive belt tension. Adjust as necessary. If belt tension is okay, check generator. See GENERATOR & REGULATOR article in ELECTRICAL section. Repair or replace as necessary. If generator is okay, go to next step.
- Check for PCM related DTC. See TESTS W/CODES article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE section. Diagnose affected DTC(s). If DTCs are not set, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect ABS control module harness connector. Check ABS control module harness connector terminal "Z". See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Repair as necessary. If connector is okay, go to next step.
- Start and operate engine at idle. Check voltage at ABS control module harness connector terminals "Z" (power) and "D" (ground). See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If voltage reading is greater than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage reading is not greater than 10 volts, go to step 7).
- Turn ignition off. Check resistance between ground and ABS control module harness connector terminal "D". See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not less than 5 ohms, repair open in circuit.
- Remove ABS fuse (10-amp). Check resistance between ground and ABS control module harness connector terminal "Z". See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If resistance is less than 10,000 ohms, repair shorted circuit between fuse block and terminal "Z". If resistance is not less than 10,000 ohms, go to next step.
- Check resistance between ABS control module harness connector terminal "Z" and ABS fuse terminal in fuse block. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not less than 5 ohms, repair open in circuit between fuse block and terminal "Z".
- Clear DTCs. See CLEARING CODES . Recheck DTCs with engine idling. If DTC B1318 resets, replace ABS control module. If DTC B1318 does not reset, problem was temporary low battery voltage.
