Removal & Installation

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. ABS CM is located in rear left corner of engine compartment near brake master cylinder. See Figure . Remove battery and battery tray. Disconnect brakelines from hydraulic unit and install screw plugs into hydraulic unit openings. Disconnect electrical connector from ABS CM. Cover connector with tape to protect from brake fluid.
  2. Remove ABS CM mounting bolts/nuts. Remove ABS CM and hydraulic unit as an assembly from vehicle. To install, reverse removal procedure. Ensure fittings are clean. DO NOT use chemical solvents to clean threads or fittings. Tighten bolts/nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
