DTC P0442: EVAP System Malfunction, Leak Detected: Condition

DTC is set when PCM detects excessive difference in fuel tank pressures measured immediately after purge control is stopped with Canister Drain Cut Valve (CDCV) closed and preset period of time has elapsed. Possible causes are:

• Purge solenoid malfunction.
• CDCV malfunction.
• Loose fuel filler cap.
• Charcoal canister malfunction.
• Rollover valve malfunction.
• Cracked fuel tank.
• Improperly installed fuel tank components.
• EVAP hoses damaged or loose.
• MAP sensor malfunction.
• Fuel level sensor malfunction.
• Fuel tank pressure sensor malfunction.
• ECT sensor malfunction.
• IAT sensor malfunction.
• TP sensor malfunction.
• MAF sensor malfunction.
• VSS malfunction.
• Open or short circuit in wiring harness.
• Poor connector connection.
• Pressure control valve malfunction.
• Fuel shut-off valve malfunction.
