DTC P1196: Starter Switch, Open Or Short Circuit: Condition

DTC is set when input signal from starter to PCM continues for more than 20 seconds with engine speed greater than 2000 RPM. Possible causes are:

• Starter malfunction.
• Open or short circuit between starter terminal "S" (Black/White wire) and terminal No. 1H (Black/Blue wire) on Powertrain Control Module (PCM). See Figure .
